Hale H. Stephenson, MD

Dr. Stephenson was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. A Washington, NC native, he graduated from East Carolina University School of Medicine. Dr. Stephenson completed his residency at UNC Hospitals. He is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (Urogynecology) and enjoys robotic surgery.

Dr. Stephenson has been part of medical missions to Nicaragua, Armenia, and Guatemala.

He enjoys photography, watersports, hunting and spending time with his wife, Lee, and their three daughters.

Frank L. Gay, MD

Dr. Gay graduated with honors from Duke University and Emory University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Alabama.  Originally from New York, he has been an Ob/Gyn since 1990 and is certified in robotic surgery.

Dr. Gay enjoys camping and hiking with his wife, Debbie, and their four sons.

Dr. Gay has been part of medical missions to Africa and Central America and is a faculty advisor for the Christian Medical Association.

Scott Avery, MD

Dr. Avery graduated from Virginia Tech and the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. He is certified in robotic surgery.

Dr. Avery enjoys traveling, skiing and spending time with his wife, Kim and their four children.

Dr. Avery has been part of medical mission trips to Haiti.

William H. Taft, III, MD

Dr. William Taft graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, received his medical degree from East Carolina University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Alabama. He is certified in robotic surgery.

Dr. Taft is active in the Boys and Girls Club. He enjoys the beach, duck hunting and spending time with wife, Holly, and their four daughters.

Angela Haskins, MD

Dr. Haskins graduated from the University of Delaware, received her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, and completed her residency at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine.

Dr. Haskins enjoys a full range of sports, including basketball and football, and is an active member of her church and community organizations.  In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband, James, and their three children.

Kori Whitley, MD

Dr. Whitley graduated from Appalachian State University, received her medical degree from East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine and completed her residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

Dr. Whitely has a passion for women’s health and reproductive medicine.  She enjoys counseling adolescents, educating women on health maintenance, helping women throughout difficult physical and emotional transitions in life, and the comprehensive aspects of caring for obstetric patients; from conception to delivery.  She is also board certified in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS).

She and her husband, Wyatt, are invested in providing health care to eastern N.C. Dr. Whitely enjoys spending time with their two children and is an outdoor enthusiast, who particularly enjoys being in close proximity to the beach and rivers of Eastern NC.  She enjoys water skiing, fishing, cooking, and maintaining an active lifestyle.
