Mammography & Breast Health

gob_ribbon.jpg

Every woman should take regular measures to care for her body. As a part of our complete healthcare service, we offer on-site screening mammography and breast ultrasounds. Periodic mammograms are recommended by the American Cancer Society, the American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Our program is accredited by the American College of Radiology, is Medicare approved and certified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Our radiologic technicians are also registered and certified.

For women in their 20s and 30s, a clinical breast exam is typically performed during routine physicals.  These physicals should occur at least every three years.  After the age of 40, all women should undergo an annual mammogram to screen for possible cancers in the breasts.

In-between routine scheduled check-ups, we believe in the importance of monthly self-breast exams for all women over the age of twenty.  For women whom are still menstruating, the best time of month to perform a self-breast exam is 7-10 days after your period.  For pregnant or post-menopausal women, this exam can be performed at any time.

Endometriosis: Everything You Need to Know

Endometriosis is a common condition with plenty of misconceptions. The disease occurs when tissue called endometrium, similar to the tissue that normally lines the uterus, grows in other parts of the body. Endometriosis affects as many as one in 10 American women. It can cause pain, scarring, and even infertility.
