Endometriosis: Everything You Need to Know

Endometriosis is a common condition with plenty of misconceptions. The disease occurs when tissue called endometrium, similar to the tissue that normally lines the uterus, grows in other parts of the body. Endometriosis affects as many as one in 10 American women. It can cause pain, scarring, and even infertility.

Frieda B. Tucker, RN, CNM, MSN

Frieda Tucker graduated with a Master’s of Science in Nursing/Midwifery from East Carolina University.

In her free time, Frieda enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and traveling.  Frieda loves spending time outdoors gardening and hiking.

Carolyn M. Green, RN, CNM, MSN

Carolyn graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Fort Hays University in 1980.  She also earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing/Midwifery from East Carolina University in 2004.

Carolyn has spent almost all of her nursing career in women’s health specializing in labor and delivery and prenatal care.

Carolyn plays piano and organ and shares piano/organ responsibilities at her church.  She and her husband, Bob, have three children.

Elizabeth Coats, RN, CNM, MSN

Elizabeth Coats graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned a Masters of Science in Nursing/Midwifery from East Carolina University. Prior to becoming a midwife, Elizabeth spent most of her nursing career in women’s health as a labor and delivery nurse.

She and her husband have three children. In her free time, she enjoys reading and being outdoors with her family and dog.

Stacia Friend, RN, CNM, MSN

Stacia is a Certified Nurse-Midwife who obtained her Master’s of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University in May of 2020. She has experience as a Labor and Delivery nurse including high-risk obstetrics. She also has experience as a cardiac nurse and started her nursing career as the Director of Nursing at an outpatient surgery center.

She enjoys running, exercising, and staying active. Stacia is active in her church where she serves within the children’s ministry. Stacia and her husband, Perry, have two children. As a family, they love staying busy, playing sports, and spending time outdoors.

Maghan Wooten, RN, CNM, MSN

Maghan Wooten is Certified Nurse Midwife at Greenville OB/GYN. She received her Master of Science in Nursing form East Carolina University and is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Rural Scholar. Maghan is an experienced labor and delivery nurse- high risk LTD and also has experience in medical-surgical nursing.In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son and dog. She also enjoys reading and baking!
